本课程由：“问路；去餐厅吃饭；乘坐电车；描述空间方位；便利店；邮局寄件”几个部分组成。通过实际视频教授各种场景的口语表达形式以及在日本生活的知识。在“问路”一课中介绍了“直走、拐弯、上下坡、过马路、方向”等各种步行有可能涉及到的表达方式，“建筑物、河、桥、山、公园”等目标名称，以及“对面、斜对面、左右手”等各种方位表达。“去餐厅吃饭”一课分别介绍了日式餐厅和大众连锁餐厅两种不同的形式，主要介绍了点餐、等位、结账等表达形式。“乘坐电车”一课，除介绍了询问铁路线、乘车方向、换乘等表达形式之外，还重点介绍了购买、使用车票、一卡通的方法，以及在电车站中识别各种标志的方法和各种便利机的使用方式。“描述空间方位”是以在图书馆找书，或者在百货店寻找商品为题材，针对“问路”一课中步行方位的表达方式，讲解在楼房、房屋等闭塞空间中的“前、后、左右手、上楼下楼”等，与地理描述不同的表达形式。“邮局寄件”分为国内邮件及国外邮件，介绍了日本邮局提供的各种邮件服务，以及寄件时邮局人员的提问方式及顾客的回答方式。“便利店”一课与“邮局”类似，主要介绍了在便利店购买商品时店员会向客人所提的问题，及客人根据自己的需求如何去回答。另外还介绍了日本便利店里独特的各种服务项目。例如复印机打印机、购买游乐园门票、网购支付、现磨咖啡、奶昔等。课程面向有日语基础及没有日语基础的所有人群，初级学习者可以在本课程中学习基本的日常口语表达方式，中高级学习者可以在该课程上了解到日语各种助词的微妙的使用区别，同时可以通过餐厅、邮局、便利店服务员的表达形式，学习日语中各种商务用语、敬语。

（1）使用大量实地拍摄的视频，视频包括对话场景以及各种公共设施的使用操作，图文并茂便于学习者理解。

（2）从视频形式上，打破以往教师单纯出境讲解的方式，采用教师与英语外籍学生对话访谈形式授课，从多角度充实了讲解的内容。

（3）中英双语授课。面向懂英语或者中文的所有人群。

（4）采用母语学习者的学习方式，不以理论讲解为主而是以场面讲解为主。能够使完全零起点的学习者与中高级学习者同时受益。

（5）本课程是在清华大学日语专业本科生必修课“实用日语会话”基础上修改而成，“实用日语会话”课曾多次在校教学评估中排名前5% 。
